Potential Changes in Cemetery Rules

These are the potential changes that the board is looking at for the cemetery.  

 

  GRAVESIDE DECORATIONS 

     1. All shepherd hooks must be placed as close as possible to the left or right of the cemetery marker.  The basket must hang over the marker. 

     2.  No standing easels except for holiday wreaths are allowed. 

     3. No decorations can infringe upon the adjacent grave spaces and rows in between markers should be kept clean. 

     4.  Urns and vases must be placed in the front of the marker. 

     5.  Flowers may be planted in front of the cemetery stone.  Sod cut musts not be more than 12” from the stone and must not go beyond the width of the cemetery stone if planting more than one plant.  Single plants must be in a pot or basket located in the front of the marker or on a shepherd hook. 

     6.  Articles such as toys or lights should be placed in front of the cemetery stone and not placed randomly in the area. 

     7.  Artificial flowers should be in good taste and of construction which will not deteriorate in the elements. 

     8.  Funeral flowers left at the grave will be removed by the maintenance crew after they deteriorate. 

     9.  The Town of Amberg is not responsible for the damage or theft of anything placed on the grave site. 

   10. The Town of Amberg is not responsible for any plants or decorations removed or damaged by the maintenance crew. 

                                

 

 

 

                               CARE OF LOTS AND IMPROVEMENTS 

  1.  General care provided by the Town of Amberg includes keeping the grass cut, pruning the trees, shrubs, maintenance of road entrances and fencing when and where it is deemed necessary. 

      2.  Rose bushes, Irises, Lilly of the Valley and perennials that require exceptional care are discouraged. 

      3.  No new trees, shrubs or evergreens may be planted, pruned or removed without permission by the         Town of Amberg. 

      4.  Real flowers planted by the lot owners are responsible for watering and keeping the plant area clean of weeds.  Dead flowers must be disposed of.  Care of new perennial growth in the spring is the responsibility of the lot owner. 

      5.  If any tree, plant, shrub, evergreen or real or artificial flower arrangement or decoration interferes with the appearance or proper care of a lot or grave or appears dangerous to any cemetery structure, it may be removed without notice. 

      6.  No enclosure of any nature such as curbing, fencing, coping, hedge or ditch will not be allowed around any lot or grave. 

      7.  Perpetual care does not include repair or replacement of markers, monuments or foundations and does not include shrubbery pruning on individual lots or graves. 

      8.  For the purpose or a general cemetery clean up, artificial flowers MUST be removed by May 1st of each year.  Decorations may be replaced after May 15th.
